Samaahat Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baz was asked:
Is it permissible for a Muslim to marry his daughter hopes solely for face Allaah without taking dowry in it?
Answer:
It should be in a wedding dowry there, according to the word of Allaah:
And lawful to you such selaian is looking for wives with your wealth "(An-Nisaa ': 24)
Based on Prophet too: in the hadith of Sahl ibn Sa'd keshahihannya agreed by al-Bukhari and Muslim, addressed to someone who proposed marriage to a woman who had offered (to marry without a dowry) to the Prophet alaihi wa sallam:
"Seek ye dowry even though the ring of iron." (Muttafaq `alaih)
If someone was married without dowry demands, it must be given to the woman a dowry proportionate and also allowed a person with a dowry to marry his future wife in the form of teaching a verse from the Koran or a hadith or a useful science.
